This guided or unguided trip covers 12 miles of the Missouri River from Coal Banks Landing to Pilot Rock. It begins at an historic landing area, and takes out at a landmark igneous rock named by steamboat pilots of the 19th century. This trip includes one riverside lunch, dining ensemble, canoes, guide, and overland river access transportation. The guided version of this trip is $350 per person.

Details:
You'll set off from the historic Coal Banks Landing area and quickly turn your canoes east into the geologically new Missouri River valley. You paddle around various islands as you make your way to the mouth of Little Sandy Creek where you may stop for a riverside lunch. (There is extensive evidence of Native American use of this area, in its numerous teepee rings and cairns.)
It is common to see beaver, pelicans, eagles, and numerous other birds along the way. You'll pass Fortress Rock and Pilot Rock before landing your canoes at a pristine spot on the Pilot Rock Ranch.
Toward the end of your paddle, you come to a section of the river where large outcroppings of white sandstone can be seen downstream in the distance. Let your imagination paddle further along or upgrade this trip to our Eagle Creek Discovery option to afford yourself the opportunity to touch the white cliffs and see the beauty of this fascinating area.
Your paddle ends at a meadow on the Pilot Rock Ranch, where your shuttle awaits to carry you back to Virgelle...
-Trips depart Virgelle at approximately 10:00 A.M. and return ~5:00 P.M. (Weather plays a significant roll in determining the arrival times...headwinds and unexpected thunderstorms can cause delays. Tailwinds can cause early arrivals, as well.)

$200/person (Unguided, non-premium; 2 person min.)

All pricing options include overland shuttle to/from river access points.
